Help a noob out, would you?

Hello, I'm ScottishWind and I never managed to catch the hype train for Wow, two years ago I tried the trial version, it was meh, then I brought a battlechest, my computer was **** so we tried it out on my brothers account, we had no idea how things worked back then and I accidently activated the codes for his account. 30 bucks out the window, then I saw a little blue timer with an exlcamation mark and a 30 written over it. What's that? I hover over it.... OMFG YOU HAVE TO PAY SUBSCRIPTION?! 15 ****ING DOLLARS A MONTH?! So now I found the beauty of private servers. Now I play as a druid, wood elf. Anyway, back to my public server misery of a story. I don't understand Wow at all, why does everyone own you with moongear? why da **** is everyone salty about begging and why do people even do it? I mean I had enough money from quests and its not like I ever needed to buy anything. I once tried, excuse me, I PLAYED once, and I went rouge, the sneaky class, subterfuge I think, cool, I'll get an edge with my sneak ability. Looking for pvp match.... Joining... Dancing... starting... stealthing... going up to enemy team... Before we get any further, I had no concept of tactics and still don't, but I found that using that 1 minute stun then ambushing and doing a bit of auto attack generally kills off anything except bosses. Right lets try it on this guy, I walk behind, stun, ambush, die. Wait, what? Lets try again, stun, ambush die, repeat, wtf? and thats when I gave up on Wow.

Now I'm back, this time on a private server, with the cataclysm expansion, the server that starts with "I" I think, but the sound is horrible! It constantly crackles And I don't why! Maybe my headset? And what wrong with quests? I get so much experience, half of them are greyed out before I even clear the starting zone! then there are those special quests. The one that leads to bosses. Yeah, they don't work, you're supposed get a buff or something to help defeat bosses, but they don't work so you need a friend to bring it down. Maybe the exp boost is supposed to be compensation, I don't know.

    Help!

Also, writing this has really worked me up so I'm gonna pity myself a bit more. I have zero friends, never joined a party or guild, never raided, except when I tried the one where they assigned you to a random group, it was such a ****fest that I didn't know what was going on half the time. Got lost and accidentally took aggro off tank (I died.) BUT! Now this is a very big but! With a capitol B-U-T! I have One good experience, which I wil share with you now.
This was on the one account that I played on public servers. The gnome Rouge, I went to he Human Capitol. Riverwood I think, I didn't know what the **** I was doing there as the starting zone quests finished and I didn't know what to do (still don't btw). I went into general chat and asked if anyone had any hide, I was doing leatherworking. So everyone ignores me, great, but one, a single solitary player whispers to me. "I got some."

And I went "Cool, how much?"
He went "What do you need?"
I tell him the type. (I forgot what it was)
"Alright I'll harvest them in a minute."
Wow, so this dude didn't have any, but he was willing to pick up a new profession, drop on of his old one, which was probably maxed out, and go out and farm for me. What a guy.
So a minute later he says, "Meet me at the front of the chapel."
Okay, I go there, I find a werewolf is around level forty, nothing fancy, every gear on him is from a quest reward.
He sends me a trade request.
    I accept.
I see two inventory tabs, one has a stack of leather in it, then another stack, then another, then another, until the entire thing was full!
At this point in time, I go, holy ****, this guy has dedication.
I ask do you want money?, cause damn, you deserve it."
    He says. "It's fine."
    Okay?
By this point I put half my money in the trade window, and already clicked.
    He wouldn't.
I take the money out. Click confirm.
He does too. says bye, ****s off.
    Never see him again.
Looking back at it, he seemed like a game master because there was no way he could have collected so much leather in such a short time. If he was though, he was an incredibly kind one.
If you're reading this Mr. Werewolf man. Thanks again. I owe you.

  2. Welcome! That's a nice and unusual introduction. :)
