1. What happened with realm population?

Guys, i played on Lordeaeron a couple of months ago and now i decided to come back, but i saw that only around 6k ppl are online and it was like 11k before, what happend and why does Icecrown have 12k now, i know people hate leveling that much and that dung finder is disabled, but what's the main reason of population drop on this realm, and is Icecrown bugged or it's like Lordearon?

There are some people that has left (migth return tho) because of the Legion beta. Also some people say there are still hype on icecrown, but I guess it is time to say that the hype is over - and the server is just popular.

Other than that I don't see why people leaving besides RDF being disabled and leveling that may be painful for some. I enjoy it tho, and some people hate that the bosses are buffed on Lordaeron. I did some instances this week, and it has gotten a lot easier compared to how it was on Lordaeron. Migth be because people are well geared now compared to before - but I have done a lot trough pugging.

  3. There's no single reason why the population chose to stop playing or move somewhere else,I will try my best to list some of them below.

    *Icecrown has been released.
A great number of players couldn't bear the disabled dungeon finder, custom honor rates,no Call to Arms and many others things.

    *HYPE,HYPe,HYpe,Hype,hype,hyp,hy,h...
It stands in our nature to be excited and curious about a new thing and then slowly but steady lose interest in it.This is the case that happened here with Ulduar and then the new realm. My bet is that after ToC content will be released on Lordaeron,a high number of players will return.
As long as there will be changes, the population will fluctuate.

    *World of Warcraft Legion
There's no doubt that a significant number of players have returned to their realms to test the new content.

    *It's summer.
There's no secret that during this season everyone is attracted by other activities, especially outdoor ones, which make playing WoW less interesting .

    *Inappropriate approach
It might sound a bit harsh, but this is the true, the staff will not hesitate to remind you that this realm isn't meant for everyone and that you're free to do something else with your time. As if this wasn't enough, you will run across players who judge you based on the fact that you ask for rdf, call you different names, just because you don't have the time to spam on a custom channel promoted by Warmane, hoping to gather 4 players for a group.

    *Blizzard Rights
News spread across all the internet that an infamous vanilla realm got closed because they violated Blizzard's term. It's pretty damn obvious that those people that were playing on an authentic realm, tried to find a new "home",another x1,authentic realm, with a lot of players ,so they started playing here,on Lordaeron. At that time,Lordaeron was in the same situation as it is now, when players had enough of a custom buffed raid, but those refugees and the Ulduar hype loaded the realm again. However, when the next raid launches, there won't be more refugees from another realm to increase the figures again.

I hope that I summarized you pretty well the current reasons why Lordaeron is no longer what it used to be months ago.

No problem :) But I belive that the hype will come back when the next instances releases on Lordaeron too. People will have less problem clearing naxx/voa/os/etc. Something that will bring more people (since we get better gear - but bosses are still a bit buffed) - also more releases = more to do. :)
