1. Running month - 1km running = 1 point

I had this ideia that I would love to see come true.

I know it would probably never happens, but how great it would be if we could add exercice to WOW adiction?

So, instead of farming achievments for points, we could go out for runs, log in a gps aplication, and after it redeem in warmane's website for points.

I don't know if it would work for ever, but for a month or so, that would be amazing.

  2. My cat will work for me.

  3. Of course you will have to prove it was you do the running. But I think we could use any aplication (runnkeeper, Nike running, etc.) that logs the running in a social profile. Then we can link the run to the site and if it looks genuine the GM hads points to the runner's account.

If the GMs are really up for it I have full ideias on how to do it and how to make it fair and right.

That system is good for people who are searching for mecry cuz banned.
Do you want reduced ban duration? Run, bitсh, run.

  5. Brb downloading Location faker. lol wont happen.

You'll have to show a link to your social account on that running app. that will show the clear course you did, the speed (so if you go by car we'll know, and if you just walked we know too).

Even if 1 people makes a way to cheat on it... Ther would be another 9 who would actually be motivated to go for a run.
This would be amazing and talked on youtube channels, several subreddits... this could be amazing.

  7. 1km is nothing (unless u r american)
make 10km per 1 point minimum

    i like that idea

People already constantly complain that they have to wait "too long" for GMs to reply to tickets, and you're asking them to regularly check potentially thousands of "profiles" to see if people should be awarded points (which would then also have to be manually added to each account)?

hmm 10 k is too much. I do 10k in a day but take count that most of wow players are sedentary that probably never went for a run. Maybe 3k for 1 point could be more fair. Again, this was something for a short period of time, since it would require a lot of work.

Maybe 1 month it would be to extensive... maybe we could do this in 1 week.

I'll gladly analyze them all, and then send a excel sheet to the GMs of the usernames and points to reward.

That wouldn't work. I don't see us trusting someone who isn't part of the Staff to do something official like that, nor you being hired into the Stuff to do that.

I understand. Then, I could put screenshots in that excel and link to prove that everything was legit. I wouldn't even put my accounts name on it if you don't want to.

Or we could try to do it just for 1 weekend to see how it goes. I really would love to see this ideia take form. Wow exists for more than 10 years and it never contributed to a healthy lifestyle - both physicaly and meantly - in any way. This could be a chance to do something new in the history of this game - actually in the history of MMO's - to use the adiction that this game can do to make players do something productive.

I'd really love if the GMs at least got in a chat together to talk about this and if it wouldn't be at least worth the try.

You missed the point. Either it would be handled fully by someone in the Staff, or it wouldn't happen. So, we go back to my initial reply - you can't go around needing Staff to handle it, but you're asking a small Staff to divert their work-hours from their current duties to manually go through data that could come from thousands of sources. What makes the current point-collecting system work is the fact it's fully automated.

If the excess of work is the problem here, than we could make it shorter. 1 weekend only, not one month.
The staff wouldn't need to make it in 1 week, it could divide the work in a month even.

    You're not listening (or reading)...

Who would do it? Who would stop their work, likely for days of work (don't expect that checking thousands of "applications" would be done in a couple hours)? How would the players who would be affected by that, i.e. not having Staff there to assist them, feel about it, just so some people could get some free points? Would enough people in the Staff be up to leaving their duties to do this? How would we even know profile X belongs to account X here? And finally, who would manually give points to the account, taking into consideration only two or three people might have access to that (those being Kaer, who I don't see doing it; Edifice, who has tons of work on his desk all the time; and Smyth, who is the one who reads, filters and deals with Support tickets)? Are you going to explain to people who can't access their accounts that they might have to go another week without it because Smyth and Edifice are manually giving points, one account at a time?

  15. It could be doable if there was a will to do it.
