1. Unfair/Unbalanced vote point rewards

    Hello :)
I play holy paladin on Icecrown. While scrolling the vote-point shop i was searching for items i need and noticed something really strange. Take me as an example. In order to get my icc "weapon" slot items from vote point shop i need about 60 vote points (that includes one hand+shield), and if I wanted to play as Retribution i would just have to put my 30 vote points on two handed weapon and be good to go. It is obvious that the items are priced by their item level, and that is completly fine from one perspective, but from pratctice, we all know that gearscore is the main tool of hierarchy on WotLK.. So two handed weapon gives twice as much gearscore as one handed weapon, but it costs aprox the same amount of vote points.
-This problem also applies to Rouges, Prot warriors and paladins, Shamans,....
I would like you to reconsider this and look it from gearscore perspective, and not from ilvl one :)

  2. It's looked at as amount of items. What would be the time difference if you were to farm for your sword and shield, and someone farmed for a single two-handed sword?

  3. GS is not the official numeral value used by blizzard but ilvl is. From what I know, warmane wrote and use formula when determine prices for stuff in coin/point store (legendary gear is prob different) and they pretty much just do it without taking gear combinations into factor. The idea of reducing price of one hand gear was once proposed but staff never change it.

  4. Indeed, callum90. Legendaries are the exception for obvious reasons.

  5. I think it's fine. Not long ago you could only buy up to ilv 232-239.. Trash items. Your average newish-80 garbage pail free-to-play plate wearer was running around with a furious weapon (or quel'delar if he wasn't lazy as fk) and now that same type of character can rock ilv 264-271.. including normal glorenzelg/terenas scepter.

the gap between what you can obtain on the website for free vs with money has closed substantially and I think people should appreciate that they've even kept points around at all with voting gone... Outside of character services it only benefits free players who are contributing nothing but still leeching off of warmane's cpu cycles + network bandwidth.

I'm just surprised as good as the vote point store is now that people still want more for nothing... smh... the point system is supposed to be supplementary anyway rather than a method to gearing your character from the ground-up, you're encouraged to obtain these items in game that's why it takes so long to save up those points.

also hi mercy i think i saw you in storm peaks a week or so ago i was a dk and hail satan were there

  6. They shouda put 251 max ilevel to vps.

  7. Why? I don't buy vp gear but I don't mind more being available for free. More people who can actually put up a fight = good

Many ppl with 264/271 ilvl gear wandering around and they don't even know ToC mechanics. This vote point rework was kinda a topic when they released it, and main complain was "noobs with high gear".

  9. That issue is equally prevalent among donors as well though. Whenever you create shortcuts to gearing like these it's going to reduce the overall competence level of the server. I don't think it's fair to single out people who only get items in-game and through points...

my poor 4k gs 1d played dk does have icc25 trinks, ring and glorenzelg along with 2part pve set... never even stepped into an instance and no idea how to play... your point in a nutshell

  11. Well Id like to see some reduction in 1 handed prices, but nothing anything too significant. For example maybe 3-5 points reduction or such

  12. Indeed, callum90. Legendaries are the exception for obvious reasons.
Why are some heroic items available in the shop (for example http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=51830) but some aren't? I understand logic behind not giving HC ToC trinkets, but item like http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=51872 could be added... OR remove HC items altogether.

  13. That is likely an oversight. Thanks for pointing that out, though. I'll make sure Edifice is aware.

  14. It would be great to use gearscore instead of item level to calculate the vote/coin price of items.
It doesn't make sense that a two hand weapon cost the same amount of coins like bracers with equal ilvl.
Items with high weight such as weapon or trinkets should also cost more than items with low weight such as ring or bracers.

  15. I don't know the way everyone on this forum believes the vote system should be used, imo i would suggest to make some bundles with 2 weps. Lets take for example the 1hnd mace from lk 25nm and the shield from Lord Marro and make a little discount cause i utterly agree with Invocation997 that its not possible a 2hand wept and a 1hnd wep should cost the same. Ima say a price at random...lets say 45-50 points those 2 items i suggested. Hope agree with me but i don't think so :D
