Technical Character misssing

Hello all,
I have just logged back into warmane after a few months since i have some friends playing on Icecrown. I had a character on Deathwing which seems to have dissapeared. When i go to realm select i see Icecrown(1) but when i log into the realm there are no characters. I am aware that i have to click something on my account homepage in order for my character to be restored but that is also missing. Can anyone help with this issue?

There are hundereds of players trying out wow for half an hour and never ever come back online again. I know this because i am a guildmember for long in a guild that does not kick inactive players after some weeks. Imagine the user database after 6 month. So there are regular cleanups that are usually announced month befor to warn everyone. I assume you are no donor becaues donors are exept from cleanups.

It's not like i tried for an hour, I had a lvl 80 character with decent gear. Had kinglsayer etc. Also i wasn't inactive on the site as i played on Lordaeron in the meanwhile. I got a response to a ticket that I need to merge characters or smth on the site but there is nothing I can click. So that basically means i lost my character due to server merging just like that, and nothing happens now
