1. Warsong merge negative impacts.

Thought i'd make a topic for the new Warsong merge. Personally i am not pleased with the decisions that have been made. A friend in the merge managed to make 500k off of it. All in all, a lot of people are considering finding new servers to play on, this may have had the complete opposite effect as what was wanted. Feel free to rant, let us know how you feel about it.

  2. They could have made it like that:
    -gold does not get transfered.
-gear will decay (n days after the transfer the gear will vanish, giving enough time to regear)
-every piece of gear will transfer (some PvE items will decay faster than PvP items)
-usual 3 days played required for transfers.

This would make it harder to get huge amounts of profits by transfering and also 'force' people who transfered to play in order to 'keep' their gear resulting in an increased population on neltharion.

  3. I remember when the Icecrown realm was merged. People was not pleased at the start there too. Now look, it is the most populated Wotlk server there is.

Give it some time before you start negative topics atleast. Don't do the same mistake.
    Cheers!

  4. Aye, perhaps i am jumping a bit. I'm sure it'll settle in after a while. Just wanted to see what people thought about it and get peoples opinions.

  5. Well personally I look at it this way, Warsong was a dead realm, something Warmane doesnt need due to simple reason, they are loosing a lot of money on it and theres such a low player base on it that it was reflecting bad image of Warmane.

They should have tweaked and implemented some sort of restrictions for the transfer but oh well

This was already made like that.

This is not possible even in theory. We have excluded all items from the transfer which could have been sold in any way.

As much as I want to believe that it's not possible even in theory I would like to mention that with the Ragnaros & Deathwing merge multiple cases like this one happened. People found their way around the so called "theories"; Even the Trade Marketplace feature was abused by multiple players when released so I wouldn't be surprised if he actually managed to get that profit.

How would you see it happening considering all the limitations (played time, no gold, no BoE items, no bags/bank, only the initial 16-slots backpack, etc.), though? They couldn't bring any gold, so they would need to have made 500000 gold out of selling 16 slots worth of something that wasn't automatically removed on the transfer across however many characters. What realistic scenario do you picture allowing that to happen?

I assume that they still have access to the different currencies such as emblems, honor points and so on, correct? Or was that thrown under a hard reset as well?

Also I'm not saying that the fact that Agramon stated isn't 100% accurate however I'm just reminding him that sometimes some flaws pop and the community has the amazing tendency of abusing those same flaws. Reason why I mentioned the previous merge and the trade system when released.

No clue about currencies, sincerely. But even if they were kept, is that really enough to make 500k gold out of it? Not a rhetorical question, for all I know with Neltharion's economy it just might be possible, but it just sounds unlikely. It's true that in every big change players seem to manage to find some way to exploit the system and get unfair advantages, but this time it sounded more exploit-proof to me. This "friend" that made 500k gold just sounds like a hoax.

I'm not sure about the currencies either reason why I asked you if you could provide me some information related to that. I don't know what kind of prices were used on Neltharion however he had to have a ridiculous ammount of currency value in order to make a direct trade-off to gold value so I have to agree that it seems highly unlikely to get 500k gold so fast. I don't doubt that maybe it's possible to get a comfortable value but that much seems unreasoable.

From what I do know, you do get to keep your honor/cp (at least that was how it was for me) But I do know we get to transfer over with 1k, so unless someone transferred 500 characters, I honestly don't see how they earned it unless they managed to flip 1k into 500k by using the AH.
