So the merge feature amongst the account settings states the following:
What ever account's name i enter though i always recieve the error 'this account does not belong to you'. What can I do? Or what am I doing wrong?Players are now able to link an account and transfer any remaining characters above the 10 character limit to a fresh account.
You must link an account to proceed.

The Merge feature is for players of the two servers that merged into Icecrown, initially planned to allow setting characters active or inactive when they went past the limit, but then apparently changed to allow exceeding characters to be moved to a different account.
