Hello, someone told me this is bannable, is this true? i'm trying to sell my character on the marketplace, so basically i was going to sell the person the character, wait 72 hours for the lockout period, then gift him the coins back? i dont see how it would be bannable but i stopped advertising it immediately after someone told me they reported me, i just want to be sure im not gonna be banned

If you are trying to make some deal that includes gifting coins then it's bannable. It's mostly because it can be used for scamming. Gifting should only be used for gifts and including gifting in any deals is bannable.

If you are doing it privately with someone you know then it should be fine. But if you are looking for someone and offering a deal like that you will get banned if reported.

Coin Gifting system is solely for gifts, buying or selling Coins is completely forbidden, anyone reported or found to be advertising the buy and sell of gift coins will be banned. This rule applies to both advertising ingame, the forum, 3rd party websites and anywhere else.

If he made a proper report and included screenshots you will most likely get banned for a few days.

I have no idea why you would gift the person coins back after they bought your character. Is it an attempt to artificially lower the price of the character on the marketplace? I don't know, that's a bit of a grey area. Looked down upon for sure. I've asked a GM and will post here when I get an official response.

Until then, don't let the guy blackmail you. That falls under harassment and is also against the rules.

yes Mercy, the point of gifting the person back the coins they spent is because on the character marketplace the price of my character is over 400 coins, which very few people would actually spend on a character, and since the marketplace system automatically picks the price of your character, it's impossible to choose the amount of coins you would want to sell your character for, so I came up with the idea of this: the person buys the character I put up on the marketplace, I wait 72 hours for the lockout period to expire, then I would gift the person who bought the character x amount of coins back to them. I've gotten 2 responses from staff members, one said it's not necessarily bannable, however if I failed to re-gift the coins, I would be banned for scamming. Another GM basically said it was bannable, so frankly I have no idea if it's bannable or not.

I'm back to fill you in on an official response. The short answer is "yes". Gifting is for gifting and should only be used for gifting. Do not use it for trade.
