(Since I am from germany somet hings might be not understandable. Please just ask)
Hey hey. Since 1-2Hours my WoW(Mist of Pandaria) started to freeze out of nowhere. I am playing on warmane quiete some time& this is the first time.
I changed nothing. The only thing I did today was farming some Ghost Iron and I lvled my profession to 600. Since I reached 600 I thought to myself"Lets drop the book for the sky golem" well..After I killed 2-4 monster my complete screen freezes& the RAM use for WoW goes from 400~MB to 90-100 but my taskmanager tells me overall the usage is 2.9GB.Every programm gets heavy scaled down& then it freezes.
What I did so far
I deleted every addon
I searched for other people with the same problem& tried possible solutions. For example activate ip6 in WoW/Use Direct9
I deleted WoW& extracted the clean version again.
I tried if this only happpends if I attack monster(Yes it does.I can stand for hours in the same spot)
Since I changed nothing on my pc so far& it worked before for Weeks/Months I dont thing I need to post pc specs (They suck anyways)
If there is still a need for it i ll do it anyways.Just ask.
My conclusion
For me it sounds like overheating/RAM usage. But since I didnt modified my computer/WoW& I can still run every other game without problems (Even WoW Wotlk) I dont think thats the case.
PS:All fiting drivers/Flashplayer etc etc are updated.
PSPS: I will redownload the complete game if no one can help me but since I ve 500kb/s download speed I was hoping there are better solutions
Deleted everything from WoW& downloaded it new
Still the freeze after I hit some monsters.
Coretemp is medium so it cant be overheat.
Some screens from my task manager right here. Its hella awkard.
The first is before it freezes& the second after.
The Second one Somehow WoW gets heavy scaled down from the RAM usage.(90MB~)But this happends right after the freeze. So cant be the problem. Now it sounds pretty normal but the overall RAM use from everything goes up in the sky.If I close WoW with my taskmanager its normal like before.
And yes I tried it even without background programms. The screen was just taken 2seconds ago to show you^^
Maybe its because my WoW Folder in on Read only. But everytime I give him permissions he just undos everything.
And I ve had it for 2 months on read only.Would be pretty awkard if WoW just now thought of crashing :D
Have a nice day& I would be happy about a answer :)
Well since you re the first one to answer me.Thanky ou very much :p
Yes I know.A lot programms dont support winxp anymore but I kinda like it. ANd till now I ve had never problems. I am running since Years win xp.If warmane havent had a critical patch for windowsxp I doubt that this is XP's fault. But yes.It can be. I ve read alot of complains about freezes in MOP in the Official WoW forum..So I am hoping that its not WinXP's fault.Have a nice day mate :)
If there is realy no other way I ve to quit wow until I ve a new PC..But that would be kinda sad for me D;
Well, just a suggestion. Windows XP was released at 2001, and MoP was released at 2012. There had been major API (Application Programming Interface) changes during this 11 years of time.
It's like trying to run Mists of Pandaria addon on WotLK client!
Okay a little update from me.I started to lvl a new character just to see if its only pandaria. And yes it is.After I looked up exactly where in Pandaria& why I came to the conclusion that the Sha's mess with my memory (To be more exact the manifestation of pride) First I thought its the skill they do but nop ( I cant realy exclude it because the skill animation is pretty long) but most of the time it happends right before I kill the last monster from a group.
Actually I dont care that much about these monsters.. But I would be still happy if someone knows why...Because its hella strange in my opinion o.O
