WotLK Connecting to server

Hiya,

Just downloaded the WoTLK client (with WoD models) and it wants me to download a patch when I log in with my Warmane details. I did some reading up and I'm required to download old patches. However there aren't any download links anymore to them, which brought me to one of the technical guides which gave another download link to WoTLK but via the web browser rather than torrented and people say that fixed the issue. Just opened it and logged in and I'm still experiencing the same issue where it won't download any update and quit my game.

Any help is appreciated.

You shouldn't see any updates as the clients provided from the website are ready-to-play, you just download them and start playing.
You have to use your username not your e-mail to login.

Just tried logging in with my username - now it says that I can't log in as credentials are wrong

re-download the client if it already started updates previous time

downloaded the client 3 times already, do you suggest I download the one with old models to see if that one works?

are you PREMIUM account trying to log on Icecrown realm by any chance? if yes just try to log second time after the failed dialog without closing wow it happens to premium members when there is que on realm

weird. connection to server is fine but your login details check failed that happens to me every time when i try to log realm with que for first time as premium only.
check your account name again, on registration you pick two names - one for forums and one for website/ingame maybe you entered the wrong one
you can also try to create fresh account and try to log with just to test

just had to re-change my username and it worked - was weird because I entered it exactly like the site said but it didn't work. Well thank you all for the help :)

if i had to guess i'd say your password was to long (assuming that's what you meant when you said changed username, as you can't change username far as i know), the website will allow a longer password than the game. i believe the games limit is something like 16 characters.
