Here's a list of various reasons why in my opinion Wotlk > Classic!
New game content such as dungs/bgs/raids/new areas/new classes/new races etc obviously aren't included, because those are large pieces of content. I am focused here on small things... there's a lot of them though and they add up to create an overwhelmingly more polished game. That's why i prefer Wotlk over Classic for an example. Classic was great though aswell, don't get me wrong :)
This list might serve someone who's thinking about either playing on a Wotlk realm or a Classic one. I'm sure there's even more things to list, add them in the comments if you'd like :p Maybe this will make ppl appreciate Wotlk more aswell, because a lot of you might not even know how the game changed.
What Wotlk has and Classic doesn't basically:
1 class colors in overhead nameplates
2 limitless debuffs on mobs, instead of 8 or later 16 etc
3 you can swim with your mount
4 the underwater breath bar lasts way longer
5 you can get a mount at lvl 20 instead of 40 and an epic mount at 40 instead of 60
6 riding skill costs less
7 you can start casting a spell from sitting down, you had to stand up before casting in classic
8 you can start casting a spell from being mounted, you had to dismount before casting in classic
9 dual spec
10 focus frame
11 you can have 25 quests instead of 20
12 you can track more than 5 quests simultaneously
13 hearthstone cd is 30 min not an hour
14 fewer skills need reagents
15 fishing cast time is faster
16 way better addons
17 party leader's text has a different color so it's easier to distinguish the person in chat
18 more bank space
19 more mailboxes
20 more graveyards
21 faster running while dead
22 more flightpaths
23 you can see the duration of the debuffs on an enemy
24 quests can be seen on the map
25 minimap has the tracker, with which you can trak various things on the minimap
26 stopwatch with various time settings
27 calendar
28 minimap shows the date
29 possible to collapse the quest tracker on your UI via the small arrow and also make it reappear
30 a smaller version of the map (i don't mean the battle map "shift+M" one)
31 can queue bgs from anywhere
32 when you hover over an item, it shows the sell price of it
33 when you hover over an item and press shift, you get a comparison to what you have equipped currently
34 equipment manager for instantly switching on an entire different set of gear or parts of it
35 talent preview
36 a tab for pets/mounts, instead of them taking up bag space
37 achievements
38 currency tab
39 the mini menus of various stats in your character window
40 minimap clock
41 professions are much easier to learn, because you don't have to go to all kinds of places for almost each rank of each profession
42 the guild name of a person is shown when you over over them, in the lower right corner of the screen... in classic the guild name was not shown
43 possible to link professions into chat
44 possible to link quests into chat... yeah you could do that before too, but it only provided a dead link, other's couldn't click on it and it didn't have color that depends on the person's lvl who is viewing it
45 hovering the mouse on a mob shows all the quests that this mob is relevant for and shows the progress too
46 you can see quest givers on the minimap
47 enemy cast bars
48 can mount in some areas, where before you couldn't
49 flight paths connect to each other, even if they are as far away from each other as can be, in classic you had to get closeby ones before connecting to the further away ones obviously
50 auto loot without having to press some other key in addition to clicking the mob
51 mounting up is faster
52 rare mounts do their noise too, when you press "jump" while standing instead of only epic ones doing it
53 can use quest related items straight from the onscreen quest tracker UI, instead of looking for them in your bags
54 the aggro percentages are shown
55 people's movement in bgs is shown fluidly on the map, instead of their positions moving every few secs or so
56 quest items have a sparkling glow to them
57 professions give you perks in wotlk
58 you can right click on items in your bag and they will be put into your bank when you're there and vice versa, instead of dragging them there
59 when you put an item into the auction house that is the exact same as the previous one, then the AH adds the previous price you wrote automatically, instead of you having to add it manually again
60 you can shift click items from your bags when the AH window is open and it will copy/paste the name into the search box of the AH
61 you can right click items from your bags and they will be added to the AH when you're there, instead of dragging them
62 you can open things like clams while mounted
63 you can open things like clams while moving
64 there's a search bar in the profession windows, if you wanna find a certain recipe quick
Nah it's not the easymode, i'm saying that it's much more polished and makes more sense. I mean all is relative anyway, i just feel that classic was real crude. Also every other exp after wotlk has been (even more "easymode"), so yeah i think wotlk has the best balance in that it ain't faceroll, but ain't so primitive either.
Game on WotLK is more polished, yes. Also the PvP is more developed, you have arenas and stuff.
The PvE on vanilla was hardcore though. 40 man Ahn Quiraj nuff said.

Well some of your points are, some aren't in fact. Many of those were to facilitate certain situation you had in vanilla. Vanilla x1 leveling is way more hardcore than wotlk by miles, only the fact you had to walk untill 40 was boring, 100% costing 1k gold, less flightpaths making you walk even more, less quests making you grind more and more, class mechanics itself (for example rogues being able to dual only in level 10), no dual specc, I remember I had to waste 50 gold whenever I wanted to raid/PvP, etc etc. About PvP you have to sit in WoW all day in order to get good standings otherwise you won't get r13/14. Wotlk has some entertaining things around, interesting achievements for example, some classes more fun to play...
Anyway I guess in the end personal preferences come into play. I myself wasted most of my time in vanilla, so it was (and is) my favorite expansion simply because it was where I played on retail and where i had more adventures. The only thing I don't miss is that PvP rank system and the fact you need to raid actively to get good gear.
Also for PvE yeah, vanilla aq40 and naxx were something. You needed the proper setup for them and very hard puggable.
@ Caturdays - Balkans? Also that autism joke ain't edgy. Raid mechanics are more complex in Wotlk , but indeed i agree that in actuality classic raids were harder because of the different requirements for various bosses. Also 40 ppl are much harder to gather and lead at the same time and a lot of classes had semi efficient specs so indeed.
@ Drkwispurr - Yes some of the points might be showing the "easymode" things, but most are just about polish. I wouldn't consider linking a proff in to chat ( a very logical and useful thing) as being "easymode". I have lvled on x1 classic and yes it's slower. There were actually plenty of quests, it's just that you didn't have a mount and there were less flightpaths and it took ages to get to various regions.
Yeah i loathe the fact that classic didn't have dual spec. In a game where pvp and pve requires a different approach a dual spec is a must imho.
The pvp grind was ridiculous aswell, cos most ppl who achieved those high ranks were so burned out that they never actually put the gear they got into use in REAL pvp, they just quit. I don't consider facerolling enemy pugs with a well geared/voice chat having premade REAL pvp btw.
(what is it with these cat related names you both... are you some 20 cat having cranky cat ladies or smth? hahaha)
I don't consider facerolling enemy pugs with a well geared/voice chat having premade REAL pvp btw.
Because it ain't. That's simply being honor farmer, ranker or whatever you would like to call, where certain premades dodge another premades. I kind of enjoyed some prem vs prem battles I did, my longest one we won 3.2 and it lasted around 1h30m. At the end we were all exhausted lol
Sadly, at high end patches, PvP marshal/warlord gear wasn't so good as wrathful is in here, except for warrior and hunter maybe, so you had to raid aq40 and naxx weekly to be the so called as BiS, not to mention, the looks of some alliance pvp sets were horrible, especially rogue, mage, and lock, but that's just my opinion though...
Hmm i think the sets looked quite good for mage/rogue. Don't remember lock. Yeah i loathe the fact that in some cases you were/are forced to pve (at it's highest lvl btw) to get gear for pvp... never understood that crappy thing about wow. If you wanted to get the best gear, not only did you have to be pvping the crap outta it, you also had to to pve and not some random dungs or even hc dungs (wotlk) you had to actually raid and hc raid. Just to get some pieces like trinkets etc (if you wanted bis).../sigh. Whereas pvers only had to do pve. Wtf?
I love Vanilla always have but WOTLK for me, represents probably about as good as Blizzard got it before screwing things up completely - the game felt balanced (even if the characters were not for some people) and Northrend was just fantastic the type of environment that reminded you of Vanilla.
WARMANE does a great job and I sincerely hope this server keeps on rocking.

Exactly, almost everything in the expansions up until Cata started was a positive thing and then it started going down. Wotlk was the pinnacle in subs too.
This. You don't have to be classicfag to realize this.
Nah these changes ain't got nothing to do with "being easy". What's "easy" about being able to properly link your profession?... which should have been in the game since launch tbh. I also wouldn't call ppl "classicfags"... I said i like classic too, but wotlk is just WAY more polished and not so crude.
