As some, if not most people know, there are 2 WoTLK clients, one is modded to use Warlords of Draenor player models, and the other, the 'old' one is a fresh mod-free client. A lot of people downloads the WoD modded client due to the fact that the opening title of the unmodded one includes '(Old)'. There are also a select of players who asks openly what their differences are.
At the moment of writing, WoD modded client is listen straight on the top of the download list while the normal version on the other hand falls into the bottom of the list. This is fine, except for the fact that the modded version of the client has missing textures, causes error on creating character due to the supposedly unlisted hairstyles, and most infamously, causes crashes on populated zones such as Dalaran.
It has been said a few times, the two clients need proper renaming, and maybe proper reordering. At the moment the download page user interface refers the modded client as the 'default WoTLK client', being the first on the list and not having any modification-related subtitle.
The least that can be done is probably putting the old client on the top and removing the (Old) subtitle, while the WoD client can be given (WoD Models)/(New Models)

this shows if you select the one named "Wrath of the Lich King". im mot sure if you're just too stupid, and anyone who actually ask what the difference is, or if you just dont see that some new text pop up as you select it.....
submitting an elaborate thread about this is just plain stupid and unnecessary...

People keep asking what is the difference so that text is not as visible as it should be. It appears while the dropdown is over it so people might not notice that a new text appeared. Or people might be looking at the list without selecting anything - there is no text then. Including WoD models in name of the selection would be much more visible.
Client with WoD models is the default choice. Description says that it includes WoD models but it does not say that bugs and crashes are also included. It should not be the default choice.

when I saw this thread, I went to download > clicked on the first wotlk client in the list > noticed there popped up a new text > read it > understood it.
maybe people dont understand basic english. welp.
as for crashes, its likely individual

First of all: The choices in the dropdown list are misleading. It would indeed be better if if the choices were renamed (wrath of the lich king for the normal client and wrath of the lich king (WOD models) for the other one). The current choices are misleading and actually require the person to read the extra text that shows up
Second of all: The extra text that shows up is the same color as all the other text on the page which makes it not that noticeable. Atleast if it were red than this entire thread would have been unnecessary because people would see the text that states that the client has wod models or not more easily.

Everyone complains that it crashes in Dalaran. It runs out of memory because of the new models. It can be fixed by making Wow.exe large address aware but it has to be done manually. That's another thing that could have been easily fixed in the client download so people do not have to look for a solution on forum.
That is exactly what I thought when I went to download page to see the text since I don't remember seeing it before.
