WotLK Gold transferring between Alliance and Horde.

Hi,

I just have a quick question.

If I would put a crappy item for sale on the neutral auction house as an alliance character for like 2000 gold, and my friend on horde side buys it, just so I can get the gold from him to my alliance character.
Is that "legal" or would that be something you can get banned from doing?
