1. Gold Sink

With the recent introduction of our beloved custom event and the amount of gated currency injected into the economy (effectively negating the gold squish) Lordaeron will be in a rocky place for a while. My suggestion would be an introduction of some sort of custom vendor (Not a huge gnome with pink stache and a silly hat, preferably) selling different BoP items for absurd prices. Come to think of it, transmog scrolls would be a good place to start with something like 1-5k gold price. Maybe some rare or no longer obtainable mounts from Vanilla or TCG ones with 20k+ under their names? Perhaps some tabards as well? What are your thoughts?

  2. There's a heavy inflation on the server and such NPC would completely wreck the coin shop.

  3. Could you perhaps clarify something for me? Do the snowmen/cows drop a bulk amount of gold? I don't believe they do. Do they? In the event that they don't, their existence is little excuse for a gold sink. I mean, we've already explained in the Lordaeron's feature thread that we are definitely interested in "gold sink" ideas, but as far as I'm aware, the snowmen/cows don't have any effect on this.

Why of course! If you would go to the EoT vendor in Dalaran, you will notice these 2 particular items called Crusader Orb and Emblem of Conquest. The first item I mentioned will SOON(tm) be irrelevant due to the amount of amassed GATED currency over night and the release of ICC in Q1 of 2017. The more problematic one is the second item that happens to allow the purchase of gems through emblem exchange which will tank the market for said items and supply&demand will kick in sooner or later leading to severe inflation. Ignorance is bliss, sure, but imho not a tool to be used by a community manager.

Anyway, you missed the point of this suggestion which is the introduction of permanent gold sink and not a bandage solution that is the gold squish. Of course, as Bensten said, this will affect the coin market but that's where the "absurd prices" come in. It's not a perfect solution but it's a start.

First of all, I'm not a "community manager". Secondly, I asked a question. To which you have failed to answer. Crusader Orbs do not inject gold that does not already exist into the economy. It is a material. So unless you are using all of your emblems on items just to try and vendor them for gold later, you are not creating gold for the economy. You are simply creating and providing a material for which someone may be willing to trade already existing gold for. Third, yes, I get the point of the permanent gold sink. That does not change that you are complaining about items that do not directly inject new gold into the economy. So if you're going to try and insult me, I greatly suggest you get a clue before posting.
