PVP Vs PVE gear

I'm trying to expand my knowledge of higher level gear, and read a fine piece on PVP gear explaining the power & resilience mechanics.
I have a tailor and LW that I've crafted sets of armor for my toons, and I do want to get more involved in BG's and arenas, but all I make has PVP P&R.
So, being this is a PVP realm, is PVP gear suitable for PVE (questing, dailies, etc.) as well or should I have a 2nd set of gear?

Quest, dailies, dungeons is doable with pvp gear, pve gear is only for instances/raids.
