Pandaria Understanding the gold squish?

Can someone explain to me how the gold squish was useful for us?
I don't get it. With this squish wasnt expected all AH items to be sold for less golds? Because after this squish is even WORSE.

Mount for 1 000 000 golds?

Seems like their main goal was making people spend their gold so they don't lose half of it. And I think it worked. I don't know about your realm but on Icecrown last few days AH prices were much higher than usually but now they are as before and for some items lower than before. On lower population realm it's probably happening slower but prices should be back to normal soon.

If this was their goal... then this make no sense.
Why should someone will force me to spend my golds? It's my time for making them, it's my money.
Sorry but I do not understand whole idea of this.

They did it because realm rates were reduced a few months ago. To make people spend the gold they obtained when rates were higher.
