Very old player, thinking of returning.

Hi All,

Really old player here, basically from the time that this server (previously, Molten) has started. I was thinking of returning, as I just do not see the point of paying a sub fee if I work most of the time and only play casually nowadays. Legion has also left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth.
I used to be a serious raider (Neltharion days of Guerrilla Warfare and The Ascendants), but I just do not have the time for that any more.

I would like to join a WotlK server, so would Lordaeron, seeing as it is 1x, be any good, or should I hop straight back into Icecrown? I preferably want to start a new toon.
Shout out to all my old mates if they are still playing (or alive lol).

Hey there Shaun, and welcome back!

I haven't been playing wow for 1 month now, but I think I could help you.

Lordaeron is - 1x,
- RDF is disabled (wanting to make server and zones alive because you have to travel to dungeons) - i find it great because in every zone you can find people running or flying around, so it doesnt feel abandoned.
- at the moment TOC is the last raid instance released, I think they should realease FOS,POS,HOS and finally ICC in half a year or so.
- Legendary donor items are disabled, as well as epic ones... it is a little bit complex to try to explain you that... but in short, you won't be seeing running warriors with shadowmourne in PvP or PvE. Only with items that are regularly obtainable.
- raid bosses are boosted with hp and dmg % to make it more challenge

Icecrown is almost all the time full. 12k cap. Because it has latest server and script fixes from Lorderon. So most ICC bosses work as intended.
- People can donate for legendary and epix weapons and armor so you can see people running with shadowmourne.
- exp rate is x7

All in all, personally, I think Lordaeron is for patient people who prefer community over the fast progress of the game itself. Everyone is the same, because you cannot donate for better items. It is for people who seek more challenge as you really have to play as a team to beat a boss.
In Lordaeron you will find in every single zone a lot of people doing quests together, so zones dont feel abandoned.
Icecrown is fast going because it is easy to gear yourself up and to go for end content. So if you don't have a lot of time, and you would like to see some fast going progress Icecrown is for you.

You missed whole lot of fun when Lordaeron just started.. Linen cloth was selling for few coppers in AH because noone could afford more. If you had a gold in your bag, you would be rich.

If your anything like me and have been through the leveling process countless times, id suggest icecrown. Sole reason I started there in the beginning but as I spent more time I've found plenty more. :) Whatever you choose just remember to have fun and if you come to icecrown alliance side be sure to look me up!
