Coin sending to alt account

Hi i recently sold my lordaeron mage under the idea that i would send the coins from that account to my icecrown account to buy gear for him with the coins but it only lets me send up to 4? Im wondering why its like this thanks

You have to wait 72 hours before you can send coins you got from trading.

Ah I see, just curious but what's the point in having a 3 day delay?
