1. ~Icecrown~In-game events

Hey everyone, I think you all would agree with me when I say this is an amazing server to play on!
But I think there would be something to cheer us all up a little bit more!
You've all heard of GM's (Gamemasters) But what about BM's? (Battlemasters) Battlemasters are people (sort of GM's) but they are hosting in-game events.. I made some events with the rules and they are coming.. right ...... NOW!

    Hide and Seek (HnS)

The hosting BM will announce that they will be starting a Hide and Seek then proceed to hide somewhere in the game, as well as drop subtle hints to his/her location. There is no actual joining required, all you need to do in order to play is search for the companion of BM that is hosting with the hints provided. When you reach the BM's companion, quickly select it and type /wave to ensure you get credit. However keep in mind that you need to be near the Companion for it to count. So do NOT /target-spam and wave. The first 3 people to find the BM's companion and wave at them correctly wins.

Tip: When you reach the BM's companion, quickly select it and type /wave to ensure you get credit.

    Note:

This event doesn't require you to be level 80 to join.

Battlemasters MUST see the player and the emote or it will not count, so please be sure that you are beside the companion when you emote.

If your whisper does not go through, it means the BM has already received the correct answer from someone else.

Note: This event doesn't require you to be level 80 to join.

    PvP Knock-Out (K.O.)
These events are almost identical to the tournament PvP events. The key difference is that the goal to these events is to win five consecutive matches. For example, for a 2v2, the hosting BM will ask for two teams to join at the start. Once that match is over, the losing team is sent away, and the BM will ask for a new team to face the winners of that last match. The event ends only when the winners beat 5 challengers, you cans see the winning team's progress in the announcements.

KO - After taking a loss you and your teampartner can not get back in again and have a second chance.

The hosting Battlemaster's will announce that the event will begin soon. During this time, be sure to get a level 1 character created (No twinks allowed - must gear of which you have when the character is started) and be ready to whisper the BM's. Once the whispers open, you will be pulled to the arena, and explained the rules. This event is simple, the goal is to not get killed by the bombs being flung.

There are 3 types of bombs to dodge:

Small Bombs - These are used at close range, the radius is quite small, but because of the distance, they impact quickly.
Large Bombs - These bombs have great distance and range, but have increased air time.
Homing Bombs - A player will be called out and the bomb will target the players position. Can be dodged as long as the target keeps moving in the same direction.

In addition, do not hit other players during this event; else, you will be disqualified. Be the last person alive to win the round; there are a total of three rounds per event.

Tip: BMs may add extra obstacles to each round, so be ready for anything!

If you are a ghost, finishing the race as a ghost will not yield a reward. Be one of the first 3 players to make it to the end to win. The hosting BM will always be slightly faster than players, so there will be no need to wait for them to show you the route. Most deaths should be covered by another hosting BM, where you will be resurrected at the back of the group.

Tip: The BattleMaster may choose that the event is race specific, so keep your eyes open.

    Simon Says

The hosting BM will announce that the event will begin soon and later the whispers will open. Once you have whispered the BM, you will be summon to the area, and the rules will be explained. The event is based on acting out what is commanded.

    Rules

Unless the BM says to target another player, you must always target the hosting BM when you emote!
When players cease to be eliminated through errors, their will be a new rule placed where the slowest person to react will be eliminated only if no one made a mistake. For example, the rule is in effect and player A was the slowest, but player B made a mistake, only player B is eliminated!

    The Event
The hosting BM will yell out commands and you must emote or type what he/she says! There are 3 types of commands:

Emote - When the BM emotes like "Simon says /emote", the players should emote the same thing. This is a regular follow command, just do what was said. For example, if the BM emotes /dance, the player should type/dance, as well.
Mis-spell - When the BM mis-spells 'Simon says', player should do nothing. Do not follow the BM's request. For example, if the BM says "Simon syas ...", then do nothing.
Copy - When the BM says something like "Simon says say ...", say exactly what he said to say. Copy the words of the BM perfectly! A spelling error will mean disqualification!

    Scavenger Hunt

The hosting BM will announce that they will be hosting a Scavenger Hunt, which the names and quantity of the item which must be gathered. These items are generally useless junk that most people won't carry. It is your job to collect these items, and once you have all required items, whisper the hosting BM, or the Alt name listed in the announcement. The reason for having an Alt is that BMs need to trade to retrieve your items, so when you try to whisper, they may be on the character of the opposite faction. The first five players to gather the materials and whisper the BM win the event. The items will be checked, so ensure you have the whole amount.

    Tip:

If you don't actually have the items you forfeit the reward!

Check http://www.wowhead.com if you're not sure where the item is dropped.

The group size will be 40 (including the BM), and once the whole team is formed, you will all be summoned to the 40v40 area. Once summoned, you will have time to buff while the rules are explained. As soon as both teams are ready, the hosting BMs will countdown and you will engage the opposing group. The winning team is the group that survives the match.

Tip: BMs are watching a lot of players and anything not caught should be reported calmly to the hosting BMs.

    Note:

The event usually takes 2 rounds but if both factions have 1 win each, the BM's will make another round for the tie breaker.

    VIP

Players will be added to the party when the hosting BM calls for you (after the event announcement), then you must whisper the BM the exact word: Invite. The group size will be 20 (excluding the BM, so theres 4 full groups of 5, and a BM in a seperate group). The two factions/teams will be summoned and take turns exploring the map that was chosen. While exploring, the rules will be explained.

    There are 4 possible maps:

Note: The event doesn't allow for too much preparation.

The event will run twice, each team getting a turn to play a certain role: Defender and Attackers.

Defenders - The players will pick a VIP who is the target for the other team. The goal of the defenders is to keep the VIP alive as long as possible. The name of said VIP will be kept hidden from the opposing team. On the defenders side, there will be no ressurections of any sort, and the VIP cannot be immuned or stealthed. No players are allowed to leave the confines of the chosen map.

Attackers - Your goal is to wipe out the VIP. This team will be resurrected upon death, so the opposing team should be wiped after a certain amount of time, regardless of their PvP abilities. Although the time stops as soon as the VIP is dead, killing there surroundings will benefit you better.

Tip: VIP is generally the most guarded.

The defending team is given a maximum of 5 mins to set up. When both sides are ready, the Assaulters' BM will countdown in yell, as well as start the clock. Once the VIP is dead, the Defenders' BM will alert the other BM to stop the clock.

Tip: Breaking any of rules will stop the clock for that round, as if the VIP died. - Meaning, if the any Players breaks any of the Rules (casting immunities on the VIP or VIP using stealth or immunities), the timer stops as if the VIP had died and the next round start or in the case of the 2 rounds being done, the event is finished with that time. The rule breaker will be DQ'd from the event and the other team mates will the losing receive rewards.

Players will automatically be added to the party once the whisper is sent. There will be a total of 15 members in this group including the hosting BM ( total of 10 if hosting a WSG). Once the group is fully formed, you will be summoned to a remote location, where the rules will be explained; and, other information, which includes:

The Battleground that will be played.
That the BM will be joining the fight.

    Responsibilities as a player include:
Ensure you have no queues lined up
Ensure you have no Deserter debuff

At this point, the hosting BMs will Join as a Group (do not join alone or it will completely dismantle the event). From this point on, you play the battleground like you would on your play char. The announcement will be made explaining a bounty hunt is starting and telling players who the bounty is which must be killed and which faction they are starting off with. From this point, the announced Hint should give the following:

    Target's name, class and race
Approximate Location (such as, "Southern Durotar")
Reason they are Wanted (gives the name of an NPC in proximity)

Once the hint is announced, you will need to find and kill the target. They will be with a few extra partners, so its wise not to go it alone. Once the bounty is killed, all FLAGGED players will be sent out with their rewards. We will leave a 2-3 minute window for people to get back to their corpses.

    Rewards

    City Raid

BM's disguised as raid bosses will attack your main cities (Orgrimmar and Stormwind).
They have spells specific to usually one type of element, eg. Frost/Fire/Nature/Arcane/Shadow.

The bosses usually have 27million HP and will take a while to kill, they have a range of mainly AoE attacks as there are such vast amounts of people attacking at once.

This event takes place in both cities simultaniously. It's hosted in Stormwind and Orgrimmar as they're the only cities with a large enough player base to be able to kill the bosses.

Tip: Anyone that is flagged for PvP at the downing of the boss will be rewarded.

    Rewards are:
    ?

Note: This event doesn't require you to be level 80 to join although it's recommended :P .

A lot of the time when player see the bosses in the cities they want us to "invite them to join" however you don't have to be invited for this event. Like I said, just be flagged when the BM dies and you will be rewarded!

    Russian Roulette

The hosting BM will announce that this event will begin. Once whispers are open, you can whisper any of the hosting BMs to join. About 20-40 players will be summoned to the designated arena, and rules will be explained. Players stand in a circle and rolling for survival (/roll); Last man standing wins. Once everyone has read the rules, the bm Roll the number of death, after that the bm will request one of the raidgroups to roll, so make sure you know whether you are in group1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8. You can see this in the raidwindow. If you roll close the number that the bm rolled (+/- 10) or failure in rolling fast enough you will be removed from raid and experience ultimate pain. After each elimination the bm will request the other group to roll and then the bm will roll another number of death but will continue with the order of groups. IF you end up rolling the EXACT number, you get to choose the person to be killed. If you do not roll when asked, the BM will raid warning your name, if still non responsive, you will be kicked and experience a painful death.

    - All rolls must be 1-100
    - Do not roll when your group is not asked to.
-The BM will fix the raid groups every round and will raid warn the players when they do so. (Please keep track of your group.)

Note: This event doesn't require you to be level 80 to join.

    Rewards are:
    1st place - ?

A raid of 25 players (including the bm/bm's) will be summoned to the designated location, outside of the raid and rules will be explained. The BM will clear players up about ninjas and remove those who break the rules from the raid. Players will be allowed to re-buff up before any boss as people who died may have lost buffs. If you wish to receive a loot item, please look for the BM's raid warning to /roll, the player with the highest roll wins the item (Need vs Greed).

    Team Survival

This event is sort of played out like Pokemon tournaments!
As an example I will use a team of 3 people. So a 3v3 Team Survival Event.
-The event host will open his/her whispers and you will whisper with the names of your other two team members.
-Once 4 teams or 8 teams (depending on the amount of players on at the time) have been invited, you will be explained the rules.

If there are three of you, Person A, B, and C, you will have to decide who will fight first from your team, who fights second, and who fights third. Once you have decided on the order you cannot change it!

Team 1 will fight Team 2 (depending on the rolls, you will be paired up). Then each team will have the first player from their team jump down and prepare to fight when the Battlemaster says to fight. If person A from Team 1 dies, then person B steps out and fights. The fight will go on until one of the teams runs out of players.
^The same will happen with Team 3 vs Team 4.

The winners, for example Team 2 and Team 4 then, will fight against each other to see who gets 1st and 2nd place.
The losers, Team 1 and Team 3, will fight against each other to see who gets 3rd place.

*Note: Class raid buffs are allowed. Such as the buffs that come from a Paladin or Priest in a raid. But no other buffs are allowed from the Team members while a member is fighting! It will result in an automatic DQ.

/y 4. If no one has won the match after 10 minutes both teams will be asked to roll, in KOs challenger is DQed.

/y 8. No gear changes allowed during the whole duration of the event (weapons/offhands are allowed).

  3. I prefer daily events haha :p
Well, they are only 3 and have to manage all realms, so don't think it will happen daily on Icecrown.

  4. Well, they are only 3 and have to manage all realms, so don't think it will happen daily on Icecrown.
To correct you slightly here, there's only 2 and those would be Borrean and Hisue. I only help out from time to time.

Furthermore, your suggestion is not really applicable as this already exists although some of the event ideas were really cool and we might implement them soon. Thanks!
