Cata & mop destiny

Hello awesome people of warmane,

I'd like to start with the fact that this is an open suggestion / idea and feedback is appreciated from both players & staff.
Given the fact that in the past year the population of cata & mop shrank drastically with the release of lordaeron / icecrown and legion on retail here is my suggestion:

As these 2 realms revolve around 2k players, 3k at most, wouldn't it be great to remove them completely and make another WOTLK realm / icc clone?
I know, there are a lot of enthusiasts that still want to play cata / mop. i personally have 1 bis char on both realms and i'd rather play them than a wotlk char, but let's face the facts. These 2 realms are dead and at least in my opinion it would be more valuable for everyone to have the attention of the staff on a single expansion that is closer and closer to what blizz had on WOTLK.

Brief history of the past year:
- nelth went from 1K+ to ~500 players / cata pvp realm got removed
- frostwolf went from 3+ at peak to 1k+ sometimes 2k at most
- the attention is/was limited
- updates did come but they were slow and sometimes broke content more

How can we move chars from cata / mop to wotlk:
- By selling them on the site for a fraction of their value (if a char is worth 400 coins for example you will get 200 or 100)
- This way you can start fresh with instant 80 and some items allowing you to refresh your experience
- If you don't want to start fresh you can buy an existing character from the shop with achievements etc.

As i said, i'm not fond of wotlk but at least we could all make the best out of 2 dying realms:
Staff: stop funding 2 realms and devoting staff towards them
Players: continue the experience on a populated realm even though this might not be your preferred expansion

U bring it to the point.
There are still many ppl that like to play cata and mop so why should Warmane close these xpacs?
Frostwolf is actually one of the highest populated MoP realms out there. 2k population is far away from low for a private server.
Neltharions population is low but still mediocre for a cata private server.

No, thats a terrible idea.
Why would ppl from cata and mop would want to move to wotlk? They have choosen their xpacs for a reason, if they would want to play on Wotlk they would already do it.
If u remove these xpacs the ppl will also leave. Its simple as that.

To me ur whole suggestion sounds like its only in ur own interest:
U don't want to play on MoP anymore so u wanna make coins out of ur char there.
U want a second Icecrown realm so u don't have to wait in queue anymore.

i can play on whichever realm without the coins, that's not the issue
the coin suggestion was made so that the people would feel somewhat rewarded for their overall effort of getting to one point.

nonetheless, people have chosen their expansion indeed, yet when lordaeron got released 50% of both cata and mop populations went there and at that moment in time both expansions had ~4k active players at peak, hence my suggestion was made as an incentive to motivate people into moving forward because at the moment both expansion populations suffer from the hatchiko syndrome

If u remove these xpacs the ppl will also leave. Its simple as that.

i don't mean to be offensive but warmane already did this last year when all their attention went strictly into working on a wotlk realm to make it as close to blizzard as possible hence automatically destroying the rest player base for cata / mop
because in the end, private server players don't care much about expansions but they do care about their experience as a whole and the fact that almost 10k people left these 2 expansions in favor of wotlk kinda proves my point.

also, i would rather appreciate constructive criticism that would eventually lead to a solution rather than contradictions and pointing fingers, don't you agree?

Don't worry about cataclysm here... it is very minimal :) I guess MoP aswell. (always hoping for the new core development in stealth to be a true story, but thats too much good hope).

Players of warmane are playing on warmane. The reason is wotlk servers fully scripted. If they script map as wotlk, MoP population will raise to 5-6k. It's not about game-style, expansion or chars. It's about only SCRIPT.

I like mop. Mop is best xpac for me. PvP enjoyable, mounts, achieve, new lore. I hope it will be like lordearon.

if they wanted to close down 2 expansions and focus on only one than they would of done it by now. they don't need player imput on it.
