    How was shaman in TBC?

I'm thinking of rolling one on the new realm. Not sure what spec but likely resto because I'm a bit bored of DPS ( warlock main). How was it for raiding? easy to get raid spots with? complicated to heal with? Do you know any good pre-raid gear lists? with multiple options for each slot, not just the bis.

Resto shaman is, honestly, the best healer in TBC. There are, of course, situations that make other healers worthwhile (like holy paladins assigned to heal a main tank), but rShams can do all the jobs (single or multitarget), mainly due to Chain Heal being crazy good and providing great support with BL and totems. You always get the spot unless there are like 4 of them in a group already.

It's not very complicated to heal as a resto shaman. The spell you're going to use the most is Chain Heal (Rank 4) - downranking it gives a very nice mana save and not that big healing loss. Sometimes it's almost the only thing you'll use the whole fight. Other spells are; refreshing Earth Shield (mostly on tanks or classes that will take damage), Healing Wave (rank 1, 8 and 12) - rank 1 is often stacked before pulls or when you're expecting the target to take big damage, and Lesser Healing Wave only in critical situations, it's the least usefull healing spell.

I don't have any pre-bis lists atm, someone can support me here.

Overall I had some very good fun with rSham when I played it (till SWP). Easy to play, gear up and always needed. Go for it :)

It depends on the situation, if you need a slightly bigger heal then you'll use r5. R4 is just more mana-saving.
