Struggling early game, gear

Hi there.

So I am really struggling in early game because of gear issues and I rly wanna know what the best strategy is.
5 times xp is fun but you dont make extra gold to buy armor and you skip a decent amount of quests cuz youre lvl is getting to high.

So what is the best aproach?
Do lower lvl quests for gear?
Struggle with low lvl gear?
Or start a gathering profession to make some money from the AH?

Easy answer: Just level up as fast as possible with yellow or even better green quest ... go to the outlands with Level 58. Meanwhile dont even care about your gear. I know even rogues which leveled in vanilla Content with white daggers only. It is no big deal if you pick mobs, which are far below yourself.

Dont even have a decent amount of greens. Lvl 23 right now.
High lvls say that gathering is the way to go so probs gonna do that, but thanks for all the tips!

do every quest you can get regardless of level, kill every mob you encounter
this is how the game works

Pick up skinning while you level. Each stack of Medium leather is like 2-4 gold.

I got to lv61 with my lv3 mace before I replaced it on my priest. lol

Professions help with early game.

I went with Mining and Jewelcrafting.

I made 20 rings/amulets and put them all up at 1g each in the AH.... sometimes stacking them at 1g 10s...1g 15s and so on.

Also sell all the cloth you loot... cloth goes for a good amount... 20 linen cloth nets 80s to 1g most of the time.

By level 20 I had a good grip of gold for cheap AH gear and all my skills for progressing levels.

I just didn't spend more than 2g on one piece of gear... that was my rule. It helped while leveling that's for sure.

i had 150 gold @ 25 from just skinning *blew it all on gear at that point too*

lol everyone on launch leveled in **** greys and often empty slots, I know I didnt even have a cloak until outlands. Its entirely doable.
