Burning Crusade Do I get to pick the gender if I faction change to alliance?

I am debating if I want to make my character alliance, if someone knows let me know the answer please.

There is a guide for faction change. To perform faction change, you need to make a level 1 character whose appearance your transfer character will inherit. I think this answers your question.

I just used it but kept my orc name by accident. First I created a human character and didnt type a new name on the website because I was thinking I will keep my human character name I just created. Please tell me I can undo this :)
