I love this server, really great recreation of the old times, i game i really appreciated. So i leveled on but before i went to Outland i really wanted to be able to mine those fel irons. Skilling mining here i come! So i did the old mining treks, heck i still rememberd them. Got to 225 and soon ready for Thorium, bags full of tasty mats to get my Engineering to the same level.
Then i got hacked over the night. A nude char awaits me in the screen. They took all gold (who cares) but also just vendored everything in bags, all mats, all hours spent. I contacded Warmane and after a day i got a response. They will bring gold back but not the mats, nor the gear. Im a donating player wich disturbs me, but that is their policy. So after many hours of farming i got nothing and the will to play further at Warmane is low.
So i recommed you all to get authenticator and change your password, because there are assnuggets out there that spends time hacking private accounts, and selling gold here... tragic.

When u share ur account informations with other ppl and they take over ur account then this isn't "hacking".
I highly doubt that anybody really "hacked" ur account. How should that even work?

I have never shared my information with anyone else regarding the account, so i guess its from datamining of some sort.
However i made this post to make people aware, not to defend myself :P Just be secure and things like this dont happens. Have a great day all!

I have the same password for 8 Years and never enabled 2 step auth.
I don't see how anybody can steal ur account unless u shared ur informations to others or u have a keylogger trojan on ur computer.
Incase u have such a trojan then u have probably bigger problems than losing ur WoW account since it can also read ur bank informations, etc.Edited: June 9, 2017

Then you're mostly lucky. There's alot of big name-sites (dropbox, linked-in,...) and games that got hacked over the years, so if you'd use the same username/password on one of those as you do on warmane, you can be very easily "hacked" :)

It's incredible how many people don't realize that, use the same password everywhere, and then come ***** at us saying that it's we that have bad security.

That would be completly ******ed...
The only way I would lose my account is when Warmane gets hacked and I'm not even sure if its possible that in this case the attacker can read the users account informations.
Anyway, in this case the whole server would lose his account and not only me.
