After everything I've read, this isn't supposed to happen. Literally the only miss in the entire fight, please can someone explain if I've done something wrong, and not give a snotty remark. So frustrating, I can see why no-one tanks.

Raised as bug report 50785, not that it will get looked at any time soon. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything that can be done to avoid/workaround this?

yeah u can get 17% spell hit or start using glyph of taunt
just so you know taunts are spell-hit reliant, for every class so if your target is 83 you will need 17% spell hit rating to not miss a taunt (similar to spells)

The obvious question is whether you have glyph of taunt. You're also showing us the wrong hit, taunt is a spell. Some context for which instance this is would be nice too.

The instance appears to be Vault of Archavon, based on the screenshot, but I can't tell you if it's 10 or 25. Also, based on the hit rating OP is showing in his screenshot, he has 11.5% spell hit, and thus, under the hit cap without the taunt glyph (which he does not have). His bug report has already been dismissed as well.
This comment, coupled with your image link's title of "GG warmane", I would suggest that you refrain from expressing yourself further before you make a conscious effort to go and learn more about your class and spec choice.
