New and can't seem to connect

A little background, I used to play WOTLK before on other servers untill i had to stop back in 2012 due to college and then due to work, I finally get a bit off free time with my new job and thought I'd join icecrown here on warmane just to relive some good memories I had from back in the day. So I had my old game file thats World of Warcraft(no install) and I updated the realmlist to set realmlist logon.warmane.com, But i still cant seem to connect. I keep getting a login server down for most part and otherwise just an unable to connect. Is this normal or am i doing something wrong. please do advise, can't wait to level a rogue and start raiding ASAP. Looking forward to some connection help

Sometimes I get the unable to connect prompt but usually I'm able to connect right after it. Could be peak server hours or latency - I'm not sure what causes it

I would just download a new client, maybe your WOTLK client is a different version than what is supported
