Now that the new Battle for Azeroth expansion is on the way , will Legion become free to download and play on the private server just like the previous expansions?

not at least for 6 more months.they still have 1 more tier to release the expansion is not complete.my guess is around mid/end summer 2018.and at this point will be completely pointless to play since all progression will be complete and all content will be super be super nerfed so every pug raid can clear it w/o problems.thats exactly what happen in WOD at least.

This is actually so true, even I was able to kill archimonde on heroic for the damn moose after it was nerfed to the ground. (Mind you was doing the raid with less than 10 FPS)
