WotLK Name is Unavailable right after creating it?

Hello Support!

Yesterday, I created an account, but messed up on the appearance. So I deleted the account to fix the appearance but the name I used was unavailable! I thought, however unlikely, that someone might have taken my name in the 5 minutes I took to re-create my character! So, I created a test character with a slightly different unique name, deleted it, then attempted to recreate it and the name was unavailable again!!

So, I did some searching and someone on the warmane forums (a couple years ago) said you had to wait 24 hours for the name to be released again. It's been over that limit and I still can't access either of those names I created!

What do I have to do to use these names?
