WotLK Adding ALT characters

I'm pretty new to the game, so this might be a really dumb question but... How do I add as friends my other characters? I have a warrior that I'm levelling, but I created a couple other characters to see how they work. I tried to add them as friends but I never recive the friend request (I tried both sides). Is there a minimum level to add friends? Is it just a bug? Could it be an addons that create some kind of conflict? I added other 2 people who were in game with me and that worked fine.

Not sure if it's the right spot in the forum to ask this either, sorry in that case.

there is no "friend request" to accept.
Are you surprised by the fact your Alts are displayed as "unknown" while you level up your warrior?

Ye, it stays on Unknown while other friends are displayed as online/offline, without even showing the level and class. Any idea why/how to fix? Is it normal? Any way around?

it is normal. All "offline" characters are displayed as "unkonwn"
