Burning Crusade Chars gone?

Hello, i just recently got back from a backpacking trip to Asia i was away for 5 months with some friends, now when returned home to the cold north i figured it would be a great time to start playing some TBC again. However once i logged in today all my characters were missing, i had a very good geared Dwarf (protection Warrior which i had to leave behind once i left for Asia, did i miss anything any transfer or account updates that took place while i was away? I wrote a ticket in game but since i have to sleep now i figured i'd try the forums aswell.
