Was gifted a certain sum of coins and never received them? Is there a hold period till i see them in my account or what? some clearance would be nice :)

Gifted coins should appear on your account instantly. Sender of the gift can check Account history -> Gifting to check if character name and realm was entered correctly.
If sender of the gift is expecting something from you in exchange for those coins, he is probably trying to scam you. And such trades are not allowed.
