WotLK HELP, im new player, and want to join WoTLK - Lordaeron...

guys, so it's been years i haven'y play WOW (private or retail), so i'm very rusty in knowledge about "realmlist" etc...
so however, as i tried my best yesterday looking for private server, i ended up with WoW M*ni*, which i regretted on downloading for 20GB after i found warmane WOW.

so i look up for the guide on "how to do the realmlist" etc, on warmane forum.
and i got the guide on how to change realmlist.

i changed my Realmlist.wtf to Set realmlist logon.warmane.com, both on my realmlist.wtf and config.wtf
i did try as well to change the WOW.exe named into wowwarmane.exe

i did check multiple times about "untick" the "read only" files.

none of them works, whenever i hit the wow.exe (which had been renamed to wowwarmane.exe), it always goes back to wow M*ni*..
can anyone kindly help.. i really want to play...

and 1 more thing, i tried to delete the wow.exe (from wow ****), and then download the wow.exe from WOTLK (old) from warmane, but it ended up can't be opened, it always says it had compatible issues and i need to check if its 84x, or 32/64 etc...

if i must, i'll download the raw file again from warmane, but if there is a chance or hope that i can do the simple way (without wasting another day downloading raw file) it would be much better situation for me.
