Hey guys, I was wondering how do I earn points or coins to purchase items from the store?

Near your points there is a link "Collect points". If you have at least 1000 achievement points, you can use it once a day to collect points. You can get coins by donating.

Thanks for the reply anyone0. One more question.. so how do I get achievement points?

You get achievements on your character in game. Unless you play TBC. Achievements are not available on TBC but you also can't use points on TBC realm.
