Site Neltharion Cataclysm character transfer downgrade/upgrade to WotlK/MoP

I've read in the news section about Neltharion's decommission, and the last update says the transfer was going to be available in the following days. Now, unfortunately I wasn't around when that happened, so I don't know if it was actually available at one point and then the option got removed, or if it still has to happen. I searched around the website and couldn't find anything about it. If anybody here would be so kind to enlighten me, I'd appreciate it a whole lot

Just a little problem: a friend of mine who stopped playing around three years ago(like I did) somehow still had the old client on his pc, and managed to log-in in Neltharion. Now, what he noticed is that although his characters were intact, almost all of them had their names reset because they "expired". So once he selected them he had to rename them. The few ones he didn't rename didn't appear at all in the character list in the site's services.

What I'm getting at is that ALL of my characters had their names reset, and I doubt there's any way for me to download the old cata client again to rename them. Which means I cannot select any of them for the transfer. Any workaround other than giving my friend the account credentials to rename my chars(since he still has the client)?

Finally, the last thing that worries me is the transfer to WotLK:

1) My main was a Worgen Warrior, what's going to happen to him? Can I change the race?
2) Most of my characters had classes that they cannot choose in WotlK, for example Night Elf Mage, Human Hunter, Tauren Paladin etc., will I be able to change race/class?
