The premium membership is FOREVER. As a premium member, you have no wait time in the queue at all. It is very much worth it. The donation helps keep the server running and if you think of it as "money spent per playing time", it is a cheap source of great entertainment. It is WAY cheaper than going to a movie or tons of other things that cost money.

It works like this, from my understanding.

You donate on an account, your account becomes a "VIP account".
VIP accounts get to skip ahead of the non-VIP accounts. So, unless there are 12k VIP accounts online (which I've never experienced), you're not going to experience a queue to get online.

And, it's permanent. I've been a VIP since 2011.
