1. p2w or play2win?

So which one is it? Pay to win or play to win?

  2. Both.

Depends on how much you value either your time or money.

  3. Icecrown = p2w
    Lordaeron = play2win

  4. So which one is it? Pay to win or play to win?
Pay to gain. Everything is easily obtained really as theres dozens of guilds farming every raid.

  5. Considering everyone and their grandmas allready have the Skillmourne, you can pay to get owned too. Buying gear wont guarantee you jack ****.

  6. pay to skip stuff you would never be able to do in many, many cases

  7. pay to skip stuff you would never be able to do in many, many cases
Care to outline what those "many cases" are?

I see a lot of people in bgs who are full wrathful equipped even though they aren't even able to reach the required rating WITH their op gear.
There are also a ton of full BIS pve geared players who never even entered icc. Icc is a challenging raid which not every single player is good enough to fully clear in 25hc, but everyone has the possibility to buy gear which would drop there. I have met people who are so incredibly bad at the game (not a problem tbh, we all started once) but are wearing shadowmourne and other icc/rs 25hc gear nevertheless. So those "many cases" are AT LEAST those people who can't complete raids where the gear that they are wearing drops, since they couldn't do it with less gear either.
Getting gear in wotlk is more than pure time investment, it also requires some skill (just look at lordaeron and how some players just "get stuck" at a certain gear)

Whatever your definition of pay to win is, icecrown is the most pay to win version of WoW imaginable, since you can buy litterally anything you want with coins. So either icecrown is to be considered as pay to win or it is simply not possible for WoW to be a pay to win game.

To add my personal definition of p2w: "A game where you can get an advantage over other players by investing real money into it"

    I hope I could clarify

  9. Makes absolutely No sense lol..
If it doesn't make sense to you, then perhaps its best you refrain from posting, or engage people to help yourself get an understanding?

So you admit Icecrown is not "p2w" by your definition?

In any case, this discussion is not going to be productive, as the term is in itself subjective and doesn't really help to do anything but shut down discussion.
