Burning Crusade Major Latency Issues

I have begun playing on the Outlands server today, and am from NA East. I am getting enormous ping spikes in the 800-1000 range. These spikes are happening every 10 seconds or so. One person in discord mentioned trying to use a VPN, so I setup NordVPN and connected to an EU server. However, I am having the same issues. I was hoping perhaps someone may have some experience and/or ideas on how to combat this or what may be causing it.

Just FYI, I have wired connection, nothing is downloading in background. I am getting 30 ping on all other games. I also tried connecting to the Warmane TBC server and am receiving the exact same connection issues.
