[ANSWERED](Quest) Into the Pit (Semi Bugged)

So I was doing this quest the other day and I noticed that for the very first five tries the enemies attacked me instead of the mounted bear I was riding on which caused me to get utterly destroyed.
Now first I thought this was a feature until I noticed another player who did the same thing and had them attack his bear!

After many tries I managed to get them to attack my bear instead of me is this a bug or is it intentional that they are attacking the player and not the riding bear?
