1. Question regarding loot rules in dungeons

    I will start like this:

We all know, that in dungeons people are allowed to NEED gear items, which offer an upgrade to their current spec. Everything else (in terms of gear) should be GREEDed, else it would be reported as a ninja act. But what if a certain role doesn't want a specific item, because they either have it or have a better one already? If that player announces to the others, that they aren't interested in the said loot, but another dude wants to roll it for their offspec, can that person select NEED for it?

This happened to me 1-2 months ago. I was healing in HoR and I was only doing my daily rdf for the 2 EoFs. I had already obtained the items from that instance, so I didn't want anything else from there. While I was doing my job, all of a sudden I got a whisper from the paladin tank, who wanted the trinket for his holy offspec. Since I had no interest in the item, I gave him my permission to roll NEED for it under the condition, that he also informed the others of his decision. They didn't start any drama, so at the end he got the trinket and everything went fine. But with the recent thread in the Q&A section talking about ninja looting in dungeons and after remembering the aforementioned scenario, I would like to ask the community whether such cases COULD be considered as an exception to the rule or the circumstances don't matter and everyone SHOULD put greed for an item, even if the spec associated with it doesn't want it.

    Thanks for your time!

  2. If the person(s) who are rolling for the item as MS doesnt need it I usually ask if its okay for me to roll need on it for OS and most of the time no one has anything against it. as long as you get an okay from the ppl who the item would be MS for k would think you are safe.

  3. Load into dungeon -----> Loot drops -----> "Can I have for OS if no one needs? -----> ALL MEMBERS AGREE -----> Screenshot and roll need on tank items

    | V
    | NOT ALL MEMBERS AGREE -----> Take a hike and leave the group (waste of time)
    | |
    | V
    | Just do the dungeon and don't roll on tank items.

That's it. If everyone agrees, no problem. That other post just doesn't "get" it.

"I queued as dps and wanted tank items, tank got mad, problem?"

SS's not necessary, but can cover your ***.

  4. I'm really sad that formatting didn't stick. I was proud of that flowchart.

  5. Ty, lkajsdkf. I've understood what you've meant. Ty 2, Nidhogger.
