Hey there. As an old Arcane Mage Pve player I find it weird here to have 2 times consecutively get the proc and then for about 10-1 times to not get any proc and go out of mana. This happens about 25-30% of times when I fight something especially boss. It is really weird. Someone told me the same is on Destro warlock but I have no experience with that.
Does anyone find it the same for their arcane mage?
PS: My arcane DPS sucks compared to the tons practs from talents and items. I mean with 4.2k gs and good dps I barely get 2.5k dps while on Balance druid with 5k gs I get 5k dps+.
This may be related to the proc, or not, since the dmg from the skills is still pretty low.

The chance of it happening is 40% per cast. It may just happen to proc 30 times in a row back to back or not proc 30 times in a row back to back. Of course those are some extremes that are very unlikely to happen, but I'm using them to illustrate a point. What you're observing is completely normal. If anything from reading your post it seems, to me at least, that you're biased towards thinking there's something wrong. In any case, if you wish to test the talent out of yourself go ahead and do 500 arcane blasts, or 1000 or however many you have the patience for so long as they're a decently big sample size in terms of numbers. If the proc rate corresponds to ~40% of the total casts (+- a few %) then there's nothing wrong.

Hey man. Thanks for reply. I played arcane on other servers decently scripted and It was more consistently proccing the Arcane Barrage. Now that does not mean evey cast, but you would not run out of mana to get that buff, I mean more consistency, 4 out of 10 or at least out of 15. However not the case here quite a lot of times... :( Also DPS sucks per general.

It's a bug on TC stock core, meaning it's going to be on almost every Wrath server unless their Devs fix it. This bug is extremely prevalent, and it went under the radar for so long that it's warped a lot of people's idea on how the Arcane meta actually should be be. There's people to this day who will outright claim something to the effect of "Yeah it looks like it's proccing 40% of the time, but I'm going OOM so it has to be bugged".
The thing about Arcane to keep in mind here is that you're not meant to cast AM only under the effect of the Missile Barrage proc. You should also use it to reset your AB stacks. Missile Barrage previously having 2x chances to proc per AB cast spoiled a lot of people's expectations for how the spec is meant to be played, because they took it for granted that it would always be up when casting Arcane Missiles. So now after the bug is fixed, you have people that chain back-to-back Arcane Blasts at 4x stacks, and then wonder why they go OOM.

On top of that, the server is currently performing so poorly under the current load that you frequently get only 3-4 missiles from your AM. Add to that the cast latency that far, far exceeds the 130ms the server reports to me down in the bottom menu. There are times I've seen 2 missiles in raids, I've basically given up raiding as arcane until something changes around here. C'mon warmane, we need you during these hard times.
