i noticed an interesting phenomena on warmane.. sharing for fun.

When i was searching for a certain player on armory, i notice that players that are usually hardcore (those who invested either lots of time and money , judging by their reputations and gears and achievement) have a tendency to go on other servers and create a player with the exact same name and half of the times the same race and class and they wont bother to level their character so these twinks will always be level 1. My hunch is they are hoarding those names so no one else can have the same name from different server.

i can provide a few examples but the last time i posted an SS with names the moderators deleted it so i think i'll censor the name.
This happens particularly in frostmourne since frostmourne is the new server.

I find this rather interesting that people are so emotionally invested with their characters so much they wouldn't want to see a replica somewhere else. :D

I do it because I don't want some dude start to scam people with my name on other realms(like gold on Lordaeron for gold on Icecream). Then some dimwit would spam my whisper all day about how I scammed him, as fun as that sounds - I rather pass.

It can be also some kind of future thinking - just reserving Your name on other realms, in case You will be playing there some day :)

All my nicknames exsist on other servers but I didn't created it. Few of them I often meet on bg from lord/blackrock ;D
It was funny to see 3 same nicks on one battleground.
