1. Blackrock/AT’s Isle of Quel’Danas on Icecrown

Icecrown players should have the option to phase into Blackrock’s Isle of Quel’Danas, which is an open world pvp zone for 3-person groups which gives you power-ups for kill streaks.

This may not necessarily mean moving players from Icecrown to Blackrock in order to phase in. If I’m not mistaken Battlegrounds and Arenas are hosted on discrete servers. Isle of Quel’Danas could be there as well (I expect this would be possible).

It may also be possible to have a portal into it or add a dialogue to the Solo Queue NPC that enables it. This also provides an opportunity for more Warmane PvP events such as a King of the Hill style kill race.

What is the precedent for a custom feature like this being added to Icecrown?

    - Icecrown has solo queue, another imported feature from Blackrock which is clearly popular.
    - Transmog is an option on Warmane whereas it never was on retail WotLK.
    - The new Deathmatch Christmas PvP event is currently ongoing and it is being considered as regular option for players.

I don’t want to get ganked when I go to Sunwell Plateau/Magister’s Terrace

    - As this would be an opt-in feature, players who do not want it will never see it and it doesn’t negatively impact their experience.

What impact will it have on community perception?

    - I can imagine some complaints about it deviating from a true WotLK experience but this can be countered with clear messaging that ensures players it will not disrupt their gameplay in any way should they choose to not partake in it.

How easy will it be to implement?

    - The groundwork is essentially already there - the content itself was already made many years ago. This would need to be migrated onto another server or have players from Icecrown temporarily migrate to Blackrock when it occurs.
    - I can’t comment on how easy/hard that will be but this isn’t uncharted territory for developers.

What things would get disrupted if it broke in some fashion?

    - If it were to break in some way I could imagine Isle of Quel’danas being a PvP zone for people who didn’t opt-in, or an error of sorts which would cause someone to phase in the wrong version of the island.
    - The impact this might have is minor as it doesn’t disrupt a major zone in WotLK. It’s TBC content, it’s not like Icecrown or the Storm Peaks would be affected by this.

What effects would it have on server stability?

    - I can’t comment on this but I expect it’s not something that’s going to be of widespread and enormous popularity as it’s PvP content.

What impact would it have on the gearing (monetization) process of the realm (if any)?

    - Depends on the rewards and that’s ultimately for Warmane to decide. My suggestion would be to make honor and HKs the reward, a bit like it is in World PvP.

    Other points

    - It’s a feature that doesn’t impact the overwhelming majority of the player base. It’s opt-in so if you don’t want it you won’t see it.
    - This doesn’t set a precedent for Warmane to become a completely custom WotLK experience because this content has existed for years already and it’s simply being enabled as an option for more players if they want.
