How to make gold with herbalism?

hello, im level 80 and i cant even buy coldweather flying. im very poor and i decided to finally start profs and i learned herbalism and its around 270 right now, i paired it with alchemy , was wondering how can i make gold with herb? maybe when i max it max alchemy and transmutation master? or flasks maybe? any info for making g with these profs will be very useful for me. i also have a second 80 which has 120 mining and 22 jewelcrafting.

Ok here's the deal, assuming you are on Icecrown server. If you want to make money as an alchemist, there are a number of ways. Flask creation is kind of like gambling, you need to get flask specialization (quest line picked up in Shattrath) so that you can proc multiple flasks per creation. Fairly straightforward, but if you don't proc more than 2 you probably won't make much of anything. You can also transmute but this works best if you have like 10 alchemists or so (because you can only transmute the good stuff once every 24 hours per alchemist). For herbalism, I would suggest finding non max level herbs that sell decently and go for those, if you try to farm lich bloom and icethorn you will just get frustrated because they only spawn in 3 or so zones all in close proximity to Dalaran and are farmed 24/7 so that it can easily take an hour or two to get a single stack of herbs.

As a side note, I suggest enchanting as a gold making prof- not only are your services always in demand, but farming boes and selling mats doesn't require as much competition and can be quite lucrative.

Best practice is to find what sells and just farm it and sell it.
There is no need to escalate it more then this. Herbalism is perfectly fine for making money.

I can tell you personally i've managed to make TONS of gold selling Goldthorn.
People just don't want to share those stuff, because they are making money on this knowledge.
