To increase the quality of bg s by stopping the abusement of ally race racials through mercenary mode (by having shorter ques as ally since being against ally gives no reason to play as horde thus making it like ally pvp guilds vs ally casuals.). And to further balance it, dont allow premades when opted this option. So either you play crossfaction with no premades or you play the usual horde vs alliance.
99% of private servers worldwide use cross-faction. Warmane literally made an ugly Frankenstein by merging 03 realms (actually 04) into just one to do PvP to try and get the highest prizes from the WoTLK patch.
I don't know how I keep playing here, probably like everyone else because of the time and dedication to our characters. I give up on crossrealm, it will never change, because Warmane staff will never assume that Crossrealm was a waste of time and human resources.

How many of thoes 99% have average population of above 2k ... Even above 500 ... Not to mention the immense resources that both the emulator community and warmane devs have put into cross-realm so they can enable one of the most desired functions by players.
You say its a waste of time, well its not. Its something that every server with more realms on the same expansion is after, it is a core game function dating back as far as vanilla (1.10 - 1.12 period maybe)
Is this actually true? Somehow it seems it's the exact opposite for Warmane. Cross-faction on the other hand, is a different story.
I believe it is since like i said both private servers and emulator communities have been pushing for it. I haven't played on warmane before it was introduced but i would believe it was a requested future back then.
I believe servers have cross faction enabled so they can fill the population lack they have, after all 300 people online with 150 on both sides means longer waiting times less raids for people, so they introduced that future to try and fix this. Warmane doesn't need it as both factions (horde and alliance) have enough population to do things on their own.

As you pointed out earlier, not many of those private servers have populations above 2k or even 500. I don't think this generalization applies to Warmane.
I'm also trying to point out that having a bigger pool of people involved in the same activity is better then removing the cross realm future, if it gets removed, how long do you recon before topics like "enable cross realm back" will pop up, i would say 30 minutes after its disabled. You only see the people unhappy with certain futures writing in topics bashing those futures, you don't see all the positively affected people writing.
You base your opinion of what is desired and what is not on only few users bashing when there is a bigger picture, one nor me or you sadly have the tools to comprehend. I can tell you one thing Cross realm is a future that many welcomed and few didn't. We are talking about affection it had over population, on the number of people started doing pvp and the number of people stopped doing pvp. I guess it has been received pretty good by majority of the pvp community on warmane.
I don't mind having cross faction enabled but I know there will be un uproar against it same as against cross realm, mark my words. There are always 2 sides of each coin.
Yes, but that is hardly an argument. It can not be tested, and the same could be said about any feature. On highly populated realms such as Icecrown and Lordaeron, cross-faction appears to be the best way to reduce queue time, though it is not without its side-effects, namely many no longer see the need to play Horde for PVP. Cross-realm would work best if you link realms from different time zones or those with opposite faction ratios. Neither of these are the case here.

i don't recall seeing threads requesting cross realm. and i've been fairly frequent with my forum usage over the years. only threads i recall are ones asking for cross realm rdf, and that's only been since they enabled cross realm pvp.

Okey i take your word for it. Thou something made warmane desire and implement cross realm bgs, also i guess the results /statistic/ they have analyzed since then have also made them keep it.
This are few of the topics i found asking for cross realm before the time it was implemented. Just trying to support what i've said. I also noted that there are a lot of threads disliking cross realm after it got implemented, but I guess you can't truly make everyone happy. Please don't flame me i only included few topics as a reference.
I am pretty sure this thread has nothing to do with cross-realms and is about changing the current Mercenary Mode to what the OP refers to as "Cross-faction" Mode. The difference being, under cross-faction mode, every player enters the queue by himself (no premades), and each team is composed of a mixture of Horde and Alliance players (as opposed to the one way Alliance->Horde conversion in Mercenary Mode). When Cross-faction Mode is disabled, everything reverts back to how things were in 3.3.5a.
How do you vision this happening:
Will those be different queues then the normal queues? Will it be only restricted to the players using it, because if not how will you stop people that have disabled the future not joining as a premade? I'm asking this because current merc mode is the same queue. Its just a future to balance the numbers of players on both faction.
If you see it as a separate queue and a separate pool of players, are you willing to wait longer wait times if ot enough people are in the pool?
