Hey Everyone,
I'm trying to decide what class to play on Icecrown. I'm a causal player and maybe play a few times a week so I'm not real active and feel that getting into a guild that does raids all the time would be quiet hard as I would assume being active helps. I see on the world chat raids are looking for certain rolls or classes and I would assume these are pubs. That seems like something I could do since I can't raid at specific times that guilds do them at.
Is there a certain DPS class that has an easier time just joining pubs? I guess more needed dps class/spec. Like I rarely see in the world chat LF Rogue or En Shaman or cat.
I saw demo locks are nice but you really only need 1 so I would assume classes/spec you only need 1 of are not that much needed since you just need 1.
Demolocks, spriests, boomies. Quite often those are the specifically requested classes, usually the last spot fillers.
In general, RDPS classes have bit less competition than melee classes.
Assuming that you don't have time to play means imo you want a class that you say is dps which is easy and faster to gear till the gs to be accepted in a raid, specifically, into a pug. From what I've seen in pugs, it' easier to find spot even with lower gs being rdps with some utility. In this sense, I'd suggest ele sham for totems and mainly, BL, boomy for buffs, combat res etc, lock for ss, aura, mind that demo is hard to play and ele and boomy reaaly aren't. Hunter is also always needed, has no competition gearing apart from enha shamans and you rarely meet enha shamans (mine sometimes feels lonely surrounded by other specs). From what I've seen and what pugs I've gathered, now talking about 10 men, mage is a compromise for not finding another rdps cause it does not bring much to tha raid in terms of utility - I would always prefer lock, priest, sham, boomy, hunter in a 10 man raid assume there are melees, tanks, healers. Other than this, arcane is faceroll class to play. Warrior is always needed but warr deals damage as gear grows and warr gears slowly.
