1. Good Computer, 1-2sec freezes

Been playing warmane for 10 years..
I know how to delete cache, change settings.
    Got a 3060 ti / ryzen 3600 / 16 gb ram
    Drivers up to date
Games that ask far more have no lag.
    Deleted all addons

    Usually what happens is:

I log in, everything is good, after 15 minutes it starts to freeze more and more frequently.
Restarting game does not fix the issue. Only restarting the whole computer itself.

Need a possible fix, this is unbearable to play in arenas..

  2. Do you have the game on a mechanical HDD or an SSD? It makes a huge difference. Also, having a good modern computer doesn't help when the game was written >10 years ago on a deprecated(obsolete) graphics API(DirectX 9).

  3. Go to your WoW folder
    Locate WoW.Exe
    Open Properties
    Go to Compatibility
Under "Compatibility Mode" it will list your current OS
Check the box next to "Run this Program in Compatibility Mode"
Then from the drop down menu change the OS to "Windows XP Service Pack 3"

Wotlk 3.3.5 was designed to run on an older OS- specifically Windows XP Service Pack 3. It doesn't matter how modern your PC is, how many GB of RAM you have, or how many drivers you update. When using a newer OS for an older game your having to go through backwards compatibility channels which can cause problems and lag. You best option is to run games with the appropriate OS compatibility.
