WotLK Tech help - getting weird lag/screen skips when moving mouse

Hey, hope this is the right place to post this. I'm new to warmane and have really loved playing so far, but am running into a weird issue with lag/screen skipping. I play classic and retail and have not had this issue, nor do I have issues on other games I play. After about 30 minutes of play, I start to have screen skipping and lag whenever I move my cursor - it seems like the game pauses for a split second. If i leave the cursor stationary and move around wsad style, no lag, no stuttering. i use mouseover macros to heal though, so it makes dungeon life miserable. I do have some addons downloaded but I disabled them all and I'm still having an issue. The only thing that seems to correct it is fully rebooting my PC. I'm running a temp geforce 1060 (will be replacing with a 3080 next week). Also running with a gigabyte m27q monitor that ive had some issues with (screen flashing/port disconnects with high frame rate settings) so I'm not sure if its a graphics thing or an addon thing, or a framerate thing. just wondering if anyone has encountered anything similar and has some tips on how to fix? thanks!

Go to WoW settings and disable or enable Hardware Cursor, depending which it is not set to, and see if it changes things.
