My guildie ninja'd an item on our guild run and got away with it
Hi All,
One of our guild mate got an item and immediately disconnected from the game after he said "I'll return it, no worries". Few hours after, he posted on our discord that he's unable to return it due to getting banned with the notice "Your IP Address (0.0.0.0) has been terminated due to Advertising". Today, just 24 hours after getting "banned", he told us that the ban was lifted but unfortunately, the item is already soulbounded.
I just find his reasoning too suspicious and the events well timed that he ended up getting the item he stole.
1) Is the timing of these events possible? do bans get served and resolved in 24 hours?
2) Is it possible to gather evidence to support his claims?
3) Is it possible to sanction a user that is proven to act under malice?

If it's an IP ban, it's possible that he got another IP and was able to log in again. IP bans are also handled differently from regular bans since he would have to send an email to get it removed, instead of making a support ticket.

The timer for trading the item is supposed to be paused while the character is offline, unless there have been some recent changes to this. But it would be difficult to prove that it was or wasn't soulbound when he was able to log back in.

If it was a guild raid, ninja looting policy does not apply. If it was not a full guild raid, you can report him but you will need screenshots from the raid, as described here: http://forum.warmane.com/showthread....=1#post2651922
When reporting, you only have to prove that he took an item that he was not supposed to take. What happened to it afterwards should not matter.

This is 100% correct, no there has no recent changes that I am aware of. Last week I logged an alt from a alt run and items I just got still had timer. This is how it's always been.
Your gut feeling is most likely correct. I would have had him screenshot the item immediately but there is ways to photoshop out the loot timer. Either report him or let it be and don't take him anymore. Entirely up to you. Unfortunately this is the nature of scumbags on this server, even guildies. They can't all be winners. It's really sad people get this greedy over pixels.
I am curious though, what was the price for him? what did he ninja loot? XD
Just forget it, kick that dude, this will make your guild only stronger. Clear it every week, have fun and you will have all the items you will ever want. 1 item is well worth to take the trash out from your guild. If th officers are in on it or they don't act - leave that guild, it's not worth to be in.
If you are feeling especially salty and stalky, whisper his next guilds officers about this every week, so something like this doesn't happen to them.
