WotLK Creating an Addon

Hi guys! I've decided to try to make my own add on that shows all mobs in a zone and their potential drops. I enjoy making alts and levelling professions but I find it a hassle to open up a browser to look up where to find reagents for a recipe (ie. Small egg for the Herb Baked Egg). Any suggestions where I should start? Any form of help would be greatly appreciated as I'm an apprentice in making addons. I can share with updates on the addon if any of you are interested in it. Didn't that how wowhead got information about mobs and their drops they had addon thats what i remember that it was saving data from each mob what its the info of the mob, drops etc.
