1. Changes to character appearance with Mercenary Mode

    @ Warmane Staff

Has there recently been a change to the Mercenary Mode?
I noticed that everyone has a different set of hairstyle and face features now.
That's a bit unfortunate as I made sure to choose the correct combination on my alliance characters, so that it would look somewhat decent once I am horde in BGs. It appears to be completely random now, the features vary every single BG.

Could you please revert this change as it messes up some people's transmogs/visuals on several characters? Hopefully this was just an unintended change.

    Thanks,

  2. I heard about this earlier and the randomization is intended but it shouldn't be permanent once you leave the BG. There are some characters with permanent changes and they'll have to visit a barber to sort that out but the bug is fixed.

  3. Are you sure this randomization is "intended"?
I've been playing with Mercenary Mode on for the past two years, and every time I joined as horde, my character's features and hairstyle was the SAME. It has always been this exact way.
Therefore, along with a few friends, we underwent a long-winded test to figure out which hairstyle we would end up getting, if we chose a particular one as alliance.

Just to make it clear once again..

The way it worked the past two years is as follows:
Use pony-tail as human male -> get medium-long hair as undead male; always the same, not randomized.

The way it works right now is as follows:
Use pony-tail as human male -> get ANY hair as undead male; this changes every single time you enter a BG, randomized.

The same thing goes for skin color and face features.

So I wasn't talking about this bug you mentioned in particular, but the fix for that seems to have messed up the mercenary mode instead.
Hopefully you can forward this to the developers and revert it, as it would be very frustrating to have it like that.

    Thanks again,
    Plstryme

  4. They had hairstyle ID mismatches between races, some IDs didn't exist at all, and it lead to glitches and/or crashes. So they fixed it by going completely random within the range of what's available per race instead of writing a giant truth table for translations between them all.

  5. I cry every time I enter culling of stratholme and my beautiful character is turned into a balding human
